Tallman Pools was founded in 1976 by Bruce Hinds Sr. and his wife, Jo Beth. At the time, Bruce Sr. was working full-time as a branch manager in the bearing industry. The Hinds family had strong entrepreneurial roots, with earlier generations building their livelihood through hard work and self-reliance. Building something of their own was important to Bruce Sr. and Jo Beth, and Tallman Pools began as a local retail operation grounded in integrity, consistency, and steady work.
Over the decades, Tallman Pools expanded into a full-service swimming pool company, offering construction, remodeling, service, cleaning, and retail support. With a long-standing brick-and-mortar presence, the company has built relationships that extend well beyond the initial project.
While others have entered the market and moved on, Tallman Pools has remained a consistent presence in Southeast Texas, focused on doing the work right and standing behind it.
Bruce Tallman Jr. was raised in the pool industry and spent years working on the service side of the business. That hands-on experience shaped how Tallman Pools approached every aspect of its work.
When custom gunite pool construction was added, lessons learned through maintaining and repairing pools directly influenced design decisions, construction methods, and material selection. Long-term performance, quality, and customer satisfaction were always the priority.
